Hi everyone,

I’m a student who recently tried for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, and i had that email has a github account previously. However, my GitHub account has been suspended, and I am unable to access my account or use the benefits.

Here are my details:

Issue: Account suspended
Unable to access repositories and tools like GitHub Copilot

I’m not sure why my account was suspended, and I did not receive a clear explanation.

I kindly request guidance on:

Why my account might have been suspended
Steps to recover or appeal the suspension
How I can regain access to my Student Developer benefits

I am a student actively working on projects and learning, so access to GitHub is very important for me.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

1. Why it got suspended

You might have broke some github rule(might be unknowingly) or suspicious activity like too many actions, bots etc...
you might also have multiple acoounts that means student pack misuse

2. what you can do now

go to github support and appeal suspension, simply write "I'm a student my account got sspended, I don't know why, please review" or cehck your email they might have mentioned the reason there
Also don't make any new account right now this might make things more worse

I mailed ..But the reply was "due to high request.please see the github docx".-they replied

1. Why your account might have been suspended
   Suspensions during the Student Developer Pack application often happen due to:

Flagged IP/VPN: Using a VPN or a proxy during the application process.

Information Mismatch: If the details on your GitHub profile don't match your student ID or school documents.

Automation: If the system detects "bot-like" behavior during account creation or application.

Duplicate Accounts: Having more than one GitHub account while applying for student benefits.

2. Steps to Recover/Appeal
   You must file an official appeal. This is the only way to get your account reviewed:

Go to the GitHub Support Portal.

Select "Appeal my account suspension".

In your message, clearly state that you are a student and were in the process of applying for the Student Developer Pack.

Mention that you are willing to provide any further academic verification if needed.

3. Regaining Student Benefits
   Once GitHub Support reviews and lifts the suspension:

Your repositories and access will be restored.

In most cases, the Student Developer Pack will either be active or you will be asked to re-upload your documents.

If Copilot still doesn't work after the account is restored, check your Billing Settings under the "Subscriptions" tab.

Important Note: Do not create a new account while this one is suspended, as that can be seen as a violation of terms and may lead to a permanent ban.
