I did have some success getting the agent to take a lot of screenshots and run ffmpeg itself to create the video.

Could you provide some details about your use case? It would help us understand it better. Are you processing the video with the agents or do you want to have visualization of what the agent was doing in the browser? Are you running the browser remotely or in the headless mode?

I wanted the agent to be able to provide me with a screencast of something that it did. For example I could ask it to reproduce some bug and provide a screencast showing the results.

Currently I am running it in the default mode where it launches a controlled browser on my computer.

@natorion ptal. Should we include it? it depends on a compatible ffmpeg being installed on the user machine (so an extra dependency) and would not work out of the box.

I can see the value in this feature. A few thoughts:

• It's not very thrilling that this requires ffmpeg - this ought to increase the amount of set-up issues people already have more. And invites all sort of more problems.
• tools should be behind a configuration flag - not everyone will need this enabled as default.

Making it a flag makes sense to me. Any example to follow for that?  Or maybe check for an FFMPEG_PATH environment variable before showing the tool to the LLM?

I updated the PR to add a command-line argument --experimental-screencast
